i have a problem with your very very green pea soup. If its vegan then why the hell would someone who doesnt eat animal use chicken broth??
 
Hi Anonymous ~ The headnote on this section gives you the heads up that some recipes may take very minimal adjustments to be vegetarian or vegan. This is not a vegetarian/vegan site but I do make it easy for my vegetarian/vegan/omnivore readers to find meatless recipes.
 
Why don't you make Vegan recipes in your Vegan section? Ratattouille with Parmesan cheese isn't a Vegan recipe. Yes, I know the note says that they aren't really vegan recipes, but why not post some real vegan recipes? There's plenty of confusion in the world about what Vegan is that you don't need to add to it by having cheese in recipes that are supposed to be Vegan. Someone finding a dish for a vegan friend may not know that the Parmesan cheese should be removed. And what do you replace it with? Soft soy cake? How much? Added when? The point of a recipe is to remove the experimentation.
 
Hi Bob - The Parmesan cheese is optional -- it doesn't require a substitute so there's no need for experimentation. My own favorite version of the ratatouille leaves out the cheese entirely.

Please know that mine is an omnivore site, the vegan recipes are provided not so much for vegans (who can find plenty of recipes with vegan-type substitutes and protein additives) as for those of us who elect to eat vegetarian / vegan some of the time, or who want access to recipes when we are cooking for those who elect to not eat meat or dairy, using the ingredients we would normally buy, not a whole pantry of special ingredients.

I clicked the link for the recipe for the yummy-looking Marinated Brussels Sprouts, only to be taken to a menu list page, but no recipe and no listing for these. PLEASE, this looks so good and I want to try it. I was looking for dilled refrigerator brussel sprouts. Please do not show pix of food without ID or links to the recipe. Can you publish this and the link to it in your newsletter or send me the link or recipe? Thank you.
 
Here's the link for Marinated Brussels Sprouts, it's paired with another refrigerator pickle so the page might not 'look' like it includes Brussels sprouts.

If you have more information on where you found the bad link, I'd sure appreciate knowing.
